On July 29th, 2025, the Darrow family received the devastating news that their 2.5 year old son, Conner, had stage 4 Wilms tumor (kidney cancer). After 4 rounds of chemotherapy, Conner had his left kidney removed on November 14th, 2025. The family was dealt another blow a few days later when his tumor pathology came back showing diffuse anaplasia. Conner’s treatment was escalated for a second time to match the aggressive nature of his cancer. In December, he underwent 19 days of radiation. Due to his age, he had to be placed under anesthesia for each treatment. As of July 2026, Conner has completed an additional 8 cycles of chemotherapy. He still has 5 aggressive cycles to go.
